On 18th May 2026, The Department of Tourism Studies successfully conducted the “Building Career Pathways, Soft Skills and Professional Grooming for Undergraduates” workshop as part of the Grad Guide: The Legacy Series for first-year undergraduates. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ career awareness, professional readiness, and personal development skills required for success in the hospitality and tourism industry.
The session was conducted by Mr. Kosala Wanasinghe, Bar Supervisor at Newburgh Ella – The Tea Factory Resort (Brown Hotels and Resorts) and a proud alumnus of Uva Wellassa University. Through his industry experience and practical insights, students gained valuable knowledge on developing career pathways, improving soft skills, maintaining professional grooming standards, and understanding workplace expectations.
