The Department of Tourism Studies, Faculty of Management, Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka, proudly announces the first renewal of the UN Tourism TedQual Accreditation for its BBM Hons in Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management (HTE) degree programme.
After initially earning this internationally recognized accreditation in 2023, the first degree programme in Sri Lanka to receive this distinction, the programme has successfully renewed its TedQual accreditation for a further three-year period, from 01st April 2026 to 31st March 2029. This renewed accreditation reflects the department’s continued commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and adherence to international quality standards in tourism education. It also recognizes the programme’s sustained efforts to develop industry-ready graduates through high-quality teaching, research, and stakeholder engagement over the past 18 years.
