The Department of Tourism Studies, Faculty of Management, Uva Wellassa University of Sri Lanka, in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Institute of Marketing (SLIM), proudly conducted an insightful and interactive Digital Marketing Workshop on 30th July 2025. This workshop was specially organized for first-year undergraduates of the Department of Tourism Studies to provide them with essential knowledge about the fast-evolving digital landscape in hospitality and tourism. The session was led by Mr. Apeksha Didulanga, an esteemed representative from SLIM, who shared his valuable expertise on the role of technology in transforming tourism, the latest digital marketing trends, and innovative strategies shaping the future of the industry.
Participants actively engaged in discussions that explored how digital tools and platforms are reshaping travel experiences, as well as how creativity and new concepts from young minds can lead the way in redefining tourism in a tech-driven world. This collaborative effort served as an eye-opening learning experience, sparking innovation, encouraging forward-thinking, and preparing undergraduates to become future-ready professionals in the tourism sector.
