On June 12, 2025, the Department of Tourism Studies in collaboration with the HTE Alumni Association, hosted the second workshop under “GradGuides: The Legacy Series” at the Library Auditorium, Uva Wellassa University. This workshop was conducted by Mr. Hasitha Withanage, Senior Executive – Human Resource at Radisson Collection Resort – Galle, and he shared insights on his professional journey as well as employment relationship in the Sri Lankan Hospitality industry with the 2nd and 3rd-year HTE undergraduates.
Titled “The Employment Relationship in Sri Lankan Hospitality Industry”, the session explored key topics including labour laws, employee rights and responsibilities, workplace culture, talent retention, and the employment practices within hotels and resorts across Sri Lanka. The Department extends its gratitude to Mr. Withanage & THE Alumni Association for his valuable contribution towards bridging the gap between academic learning and industry practice, empowering future professionals in Sri Lanka’s growing hospitality sector.
