On May 27, 2025, the Department of Tourism Studies in collaboration with the HTE Alumni Association, hosted the first insightful and inspiring workshop under “GradGuides: The Legacy Series” at the Technology Lecture Theatre, Uva Wellassa University. This special event featured Mr. Oshadha Bamunuarachchi, an HTE alumni member who is now working at MSC Cruises, and he shared his professional journey and industry expertise with our enthusiastic 2nd and 3rd-year HTE undergraduates.
Titled “Cruise Transportation and Tourism”, the session offered students a unique opportunity to dive into the dynamic world of cruise tourism—exploring career paths, operational challenges, and global opportunities. From navigating real-world scenarios to understanding life at sea, Mr. Bamunuarachchi’s engaging talk sparked curiosity and ambition, truly helping students set sail toward exciting futures in the international tourism industry.
