The Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the UWU Tourism Club (HTE Club) was successfully held on 28th April 2025 from 4:30 p.m. onwards at the Technology Lecture Theatre, with the presence of the Dean – Faculty of Management, Head – Department of Tourism Studies, all the academic staff members of the department, and HTE undergraduates.
The event commenced with the University Anthem, followed by a captivating welcome dance that set a vibrant tone for the evening. The agenda featured engaging entertainment items, adding colour and energy to the proceedings. A significant highlight was the appointment of the new office bearers for the upcoming term of 2025-2026, ensuring the continued growth and dynamism of the UWU Tourism Club. The AGM also provided a platform for members to share suggestions and ideas for future activities.
Inspiring speeches were delivered by Mr. Dhananjaya Nawarathne, the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Ms. Chathuri Danthanarayana, the Head of the Department of Tourism Studies followed by the presentation of appreciation letters to acknowledge the contributions of members. The event concluded marking the end of a successful and memorable gathering and with new plans for the upcoming term.
