The third Annual General Meeting of HTE alumni, “Fratenité 2024,” was successfully held on the 22nd of June 2024, at the Cocoloco Gardens, Polgasowita. The AGM commenced at 10:00 a.m. with the participation of about 40 HTE alumni members.
Annually organized by SLAITO, the “Sancharaka Udawa 2024” exhibition serves as a pivotal platform for tourism stakeholders. Uva Wellassa University’s Department of Tourism Studies has launched a six-month “Culinary Operations” training program for BBM Honours in Hospitality, Tourism, and Events Management undergraduates starting May 8th, 2024. On January 23rd, 2024, Uva Wellassa University’s fourth-year undergraduate in the Hospitality, Tourism, and Events Management department attended the “MOJO Workshop” as part of Galena 2024, led by TV Derana’s General Manager- Mr. K.C. Saranga and focused on enhancing students’ media and advertising techniques.
The “Exploring Culinary Wonders with Unilever Food Solutions” event was an unforgettable culinary experience held on January 10th, 2024 at the HTE Laboratory. Chef T.M.C. Tennakoon, Shakti Devan, and Executive Chef Saman Wijerathna conducted the workshop for the undergraduates.
