Undergraduates of Hospitality, Tourism and Events Management at Uva Wellassa University participated in UNWTO Student League competition 2021, which was organized by the UNWTO under the theme of “Tourism and Rural Development – Undergraduates student’s challenge”. Along with the guidance and supervision of Team Professor, Prof. Ruwan Ranasinghe (Head] / Department of Tourism Studies), Senior Lecturer, Mrs. W.G.S.R. Wijesundara and Lecturer Ms. U.G.O. Sammani, “Team UWU” consist of Ms. M.A.D.M. Ranawaka, Ms. R.N. Wijethunga, Mr. H.S.F. Wijewickrama, Ms. I.S. Narampanawa and Ms. B.D.A.S. Pabasara was able to achieve the 1st place in island ranking, 1st place in South Asian ranking , 9th place in Asian ranking and 17th place in world ranking out of 1000 contestants.
